Summer comes from a proud military family and grew up moving throughout the United States as well as abroad in Japan and Italy. She began her nursing career in Washington State, working in an acute care hospital on a Medical-Surgical and Cardiovascular Surgery unit while earning her Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
Following her husband’s retirement from the Navy as a submariner, Summer embraced the opportunity to travel the country as a travel nurse. Along the way, she gained extensive experience in a variety of specialties, including Progressive Care, Observation, Float Pool, and Hospice Care.
Ten years ago, Summer and her husband made Gilbert, Arizona, their home—a place they had grown to love after attending Spring Training baseball games in the Valley for over two decades. She went on to earn her Master of Science in Nursing as a Family Nurse Practitioner from Chamberlain University, graduating with honors as a member of Sigma Theta Tau.
Becoming a nurse practitioner was a deeply personal decision for Summer, rooted in her passion for preventive care and patient education. Her goal is to partner with patients to help them take charge of their health, empowering them through support and education to live their healthiest, happiest lives.
Outside of work, Summer and her husband stay busy raising their energetic 7-year-old triplets. Their family enjoys playing sports, attending Spring Training games, exploring the Phoenix Zoo, and taking trips to Disneyland. Summer also enjoys reading, camping, playing golf, and cheering on her favorite baseball and football teams.
